bumGenius 4.0 Cloth Diaper | Hook and Loop

Features:

  • NEW! Durable snap closures help keep diapers on older babies.
  • NEW! Generous sizing accommodates larger babies.
  • NEW! Easily replaceable elastic keeps your diapers fresh.
  • 3x3 snap down design* adjusts the sizing to fit small, medium and large sizes (approximately 7-35+ pounds).
  • Trim, snug and comfortable stretchy tabs* provide a custom fit.
  • Waterproof insert stopper* prevents leaking at the tummy.
  • Diapers are bundled with two inserts: a newborn insert for newborns and a one-size insert for your older baby.
  • Wide slot opening makes it easy to stuff and remove insert.
  • Slot cover* protects your baby from wetness.

All bumGenius One-Size Cloth Diapers include a small, lightweight insert for newborns and a larger one-size insert for your growing baby. When your baby outgrows the newborn insert, it works as an overnight booster or as extra absorbency for heavy wetters.

Cloth diapering has never been so easy! bumGenius One-Size Cloth Diapers feature our patent pending butterfly closure system to provide a comfortable, trim fit. This simple design makes cloth diapering as easy as using disposables. The familiar design makes bumGenius one-size cloth diapers perfect for care providers who might be resistant to cloth diapering (including daycares).

Less Clutter bumGenius One-Size Cloth Diapers fit most babies from 7 to 35+ pounds. No more sorting by size or having to carry multiple diapers when going out. Three snap-downs on the front of the diaper* allow you to easily adjust the size of the diaper as your baby grows. For newborns, fold down the insert stopper for an extra-small rise.

Only the Best for Your Baby The soft, waterproof outer fabric keeps the diaper trim on your newborn and toddler. Soft, sueded inner fabric gently wicks moisture away from your baby's skin. Super stretchy, gentle leg and back elastic with rolled out casings keeps the yuk in and help to keep red marks away. Our unique covered* slot opening keeps your baby protected from moisture.

I love the 4.0 and have mainly snaps but wanted to get velcro for when my little one was in between snap sizes. This solves the problem and makes diaper changes much faster. Just remember to close the snap tabs when washing or they stick to everything. These are ok but I'm glad I have mainly snaps in my stash. (Posted on 8/14/2014)
love the new bumgenius!! Review by jennifer

i just started cloth diapering about 5 months ago. when i first started, i bought about 13 or 14 happy heinys pocket dipes, and about the same number of BG 3.0. My only problem with the old BG was that I felt like my 24 lb twins would be outgrowing them soon. other than that, i loved everything about them. when i heard BG was coming out with the 4.0, i took a chance, and sold all of my cloth dipes, and pre-ordered the 4.0. I was not dissapointed!! the 4.0 is everything that cotton babies promised. my boys used to completely fill out the diaper on the largest setting...now with the 4.0, i can get a perfect fit on the second to largest setting!! this will give them so much more room to grow, and i really think that these dipes will last us all the way to potty training. the hook and loop is good quality too...you can tell its better than the 3.0. so far, the laundry tabs always stay closed in the wash. one thing i noticed about the BG that i like better than HH is the fleece they use for the shell. its softer, yet cooler, and it doesnt seem to stain nearly as bad. all in all, i love everything about the 4.0, and i recommend them to everyone!! The Bumgenius 3.0s were my choice diaper and I wondered if they could really get any better. They did!! The hook/loop closure is so much better than before. It's softer, holds better and washes way better. I have my 16 month old on the highest rise in the 3.0s but can use the middle rise on these. Super soft, love the new pale colors!! I have used Rumparooz, GroBaby, FuzziBunz, and traditional prefolds with covers and by far Bum Genius are my top pick. The 4.0 is even better than the 3.0. The sizing is what I am most excited about. One of my issues with the other brands is that my daughter will be out of them by the time she is 7-8 months old, and with the new sizing of the one size 4.0's they will last much longer. Diapers are well made and absorbant. It took a while for my baby to grow into them since he was a preemie, but now that he is bigger they fit great! (Posted on 2/14/2014)

I cant believe they made the diapers even better. The aplix is stronger and less pilly than the 3.0's and a wee bit bigger so it fits babies for even longer. SUch a great diaper! (Posted on 2/14/2014)
Functional but color issue Review by Jamie O.

I got several of these after winning one in a contest. I really liked the fit of the diaper on our 18 month old. However, after the initial prep was the color faded out. I was told by BG the color it was after the prep wash was the original color but it wasn't.

Color issue aside I liked them so much, I bought a few more and the same thing happened after the prep wash...but in snaps this time. I contacted BG again and was offered an exchange because the ones I got were "defective." I don't believe that but because they do work so well for us I don't dwell on the color issue, just know that there is a possibility the color you buy, especially if it's one of the lighter colors, may not be the color it will remain.

I really like the fact that BG made these so that they can be bleached our regularly. No issues with the snaps or velcro which is great! The fit has been great too.

After trying a hybrid diaper system, I chose to look for something less complicated and with less leaks. These diapers are much better than a hybrid system because they leak less and are far less work to clean them and use them in general. I like the Velcro better than the snaps, especially on a wiggly baby. (Posted on 2/14/2014)

I have CD 3 children and these are by far the most like a disposable in terms of convenience. Sanitize occassionally to keep stinkies away but you do with any cloth diaper. Velcro has held up well, laundry tabs help so they dont get bits of fuzz stuck to them. Inner panel is very soft and keeps baby feeling dry. outer cover has held up well, soft and pliable. I love my bumgenius diapers. I never have leaks with these. They are my go to for nap and bedtime, with both inserts it a guarantee of no wet wake ups. They wash well and dry quickly. They fit my 2 yr old and my 6 month old very well. My baby is very chunky and I find other pockets don't fit around his legs well enough to keep in the leaks, but these seem to have plenty of room when I use the largest setting even though he is only 17 lbs. with no leaks. These are by far my favorite diapers. They make up a large portion of our diaper stash. We bought alot of these because we wanted to continue to cloth diaper when our daughter went to daycare and they love themj too!! These diapers are easy to use, wash well and are super absorbant. My 7 month old daughter wears one at night with the newborn and regular soakers and feels dry in the morning. (Posted on 2/14/2014)

I love the fit of the bumGenius one size diapers, but unfortunately they have a suedecloth inner. This has caused my son to break out in redness. Bummer since they are such a nice quality diaper and fit so well! I still recommend these diapers to my mommy friends that are just starting to branch out into the cloth diaper world. I personally liked the 3.0 better because you did not have to stuff it. (Admin Note: We believe the reviewer is referring to the 3.0 All-in-ones, as the 3.0 pockets were of the same design as these.) However, great product, really keeps moisture away from baby's skin and won't leak. (Posted on 2/14/2014)

I've tested nine styles of cloth diapers and BumGenius 4.0 is what I am purchasing more of because: (1) It hasn't leaked on my heavy wetter and so far I have only used one insert. (2) The fit is the least bulky - beating Fuzzibunz, Gdiaper, Happy Heiney and Rumparooz! (3) It goes on such a grea sale I can buy new instead of used. (4) I love the inner and outer material. Such good quality. (5) My son does not lay still for diaper changes so this definitely beat Econobum for ease of use. (Posted on 2/14/2014)

I really like this diaper. They fit well on my 9lb newborn and look like they will grow with him well. My husband really prefers the velcro closure over the snaps. I prefer the snaps for washing and because I think they will hold up better, but the velcro is easier to get on and off baby.

Sometimes the fold over the pocket in the back needs to be tucked in right after I put the diaper on.

I haven't used this product long. I think it will last through one baby... not sure if it will last for another.

I let my hubby use our velcro BGs. I really like the BumGenius 4.0s, and my husband really likes how easy they are to put on with the velcro. I also like the velcro for ease of changing, but prefer the snaps for washing and longevity (I think the snaps will hold up better).

I think this diaper will survive through one child. Not sure if they will survive for another.

They fit my 9lb newborn well and we haven't had any leaks yet, though you do have to make sure the pocket flap is tucked in when changing. It tends to stick out the back.

After 4 years of cloth diapering, I have tried so many different diapers, but always seem to come back to my bg os. They fit so well on our children. At 6 lb, they fit our little ones very well. I love the newborn inserts, as they are so thin and easy to fit on little babies. Our kids have been long skinny toddlers, and at 2 1/2 our daughter fits in her 4.0 OS diapers really well. The BumGenius 4.0 in hook & loop was my first one size diaper. I got some others to try as well, but it was the one I chose to get more of. It fit my daughter the best of the one sizes we had, right when she reached around 10lbs. These are always leak free for us. The hook and loop is easy to use by others who change my daughters diapers, but it does start to show wear while the snap version does not. I guess it's the trade off, but still worth having a few on hand for others to use. (Posted on 2/14/2014)

I have used these diapers for my son for 5 months full time and used an older model part time with my daughter. The diapers are holding up well so far. The key for me was to get down a good washing routine. Initially I had some trouble with microfiber stink. Then I discovered that I needed to rinse more water through the diapers before washing, I run a water only wash first. Since I started doing this I have had no smell problems and the diapers clean up great.
Pros:
- so easy to use, my very uninterested in cloth diapers husband can do these no problem
- very little staining
Cons:
- use a lot of water to wash

When it is daddy's turn to change the diaper, he always grabs the BumGenius with the hook and loops. He likes the hook and loops because he get the diaper on without trying to figure out the snaps. With snaps, he thinks he gets it too tight or too loose! (Posted on 2/14/2014)

We just adore bumGenius! We have used these diapers for almost 2 years now, and I can't believe how well they've held up! There is minimal staining on the liners, but not at all how much you'd expect for two years worth of being pottied in! Ha! I will say, however, that the Velcro on the hook & loops does wear out, and we have had to replace ours. You can buy the refresher kits for $1 each and they are pretty easy to use; just kind of a pain to find the time to fix them up! But still easily one of the simplest, user-friendly diapers! Pros to hook & loop: more custom fit, easier to fasten
cons: if you forget to secure the Velcro it snags either another diaper or an insert in the washing machine, hear they don't last as long as the diaper itself

Great Easy Diaper! Review by Kayla

Both me and my husband love the ease of use of the hook and loop, especially in the middle of the night and you can barely see and when our baby is squirmy. This was the only non-newborn diaper that fit our newborn (at 9lbs) the velcro is more adjustable than the snaps. I have to make sure i dont use up all these diapers so my husband or grandma can use the hook and loop ones, otherwise they are frustrated with the snaps (even though they arent that complicated!). These are our favorite. but i can see that eventually the Velcro will eventually need to be replaced. but they still look good as new after 3 months of daily use. even then bumgenius has a $1 repair pack for elastics and hook and loop.
Great diaper, easy trim, fits smaller babies than the snaps

I have mainly snaps, but I have about 1/3 velcro for in-laws and the husband. The velcro is still great after 6 months and there are refresher kits sold to replace the velcro which are very easy to use (I replaced preloved velcro). As long as you fasten laundry tabs and hang dry then your velcro will last longer. (Posted on 2/14/2014)

Velcro wears out Review by Robin

BG has been our go to cloth diaper for a little over a year now. At first I really liked the hook and loop closure as it seemed to give a nice and snug fit for our lean little one. We have ALWAYS washed the diapers according to the directions but as our little one reached 16 months of age I was disappointed to find all our hook and loop diapers had Velcro that was worn out and no longer staying shut. I did purchase the velcro replacement kits from the manufacturer but those only replace the tabs and our problem is the velcro strip in the front is worn out. I have slowly had to replace our hook and loop diapers with snap diapers. I know the snaps will last and we will be able to use all those diapers again for our next little one. Also as baby grew older is became easy for little hands to undo the hook and loop fasteners as i was trying to wrestle pants back on after a diaper change. So far little one has never been able to undo the snaps. (Posted on 2/14/2014)
