Fitted Diapers for Newbies
Fitteds are cut to the shape of your baby, with elastic at the waist and legs to help hold in mess. They look like a complete diaper and go on like a disposable, but require a waterproof cover to contain wetness.
Unlike other diapering options, where the center of the diaper is the only area to absorb, the entire diaper is absorbent. This is why fitteds are a great option for nighttime or heavy wetters.
Fitteds are usually made of natural fibers, such as cotton, hemp, or bamboo. They are known for being very breathable. While they do require a cover to be waterproof, some parents opt to allow their baby to go coverless at home during the day to take advantage of this benefit.
Closures on these diapers vary. Some are available in snaps, while others come in hook & loop. There are even some made without closures. For that option, you would need to use pins or Snappi to secure it on your baby.
These diapers are available in different sizes or a one-size option, which means they should fit your child from infant to potty-training.
Fitteds usually come with soakers. Some are already sewn into the diaper, while others can be snapped in or simply laid in. You can add more soakers if additional absorbency is needed.
