Original Moby Wrap

Be comfortable

The design of the Moby Wrap uses your entire back, as well as your shoulders, to carry the weight of your baby. Unlike other carriers, which have narrow straps or go across one shoulder, the Moby Wrap is a wide piece of fabric that is wrapped over both shoulders. It is amazingly comfortable and easy to wear. There are no buckles, snaps or other fasteners. It is easy to adjust the fit of your Moby Wrap by varying how tightly you wrap yourself and your baby.

Be secure

The Moby Wrap comes with an easy to follow instructional guide and this web site with the latest news, tips and techniques. With the single stretch cotton and the width of the Moby Wrap, your baby is wrapped close and tight, ensuring a secure hold. Your baby s head can also be secured under the stretchy cotton fabric for added safety. You can finally have both hands free and know your baby is safe and secure.

Be uniquely close to your baby

There is not a lot of extra material or bulky padding between you and your baby. Your baby can hear your heartbeat and finds comfort in the warmth of your body, and sound of your heartbeat within the cuddly confines of the Moby Wrap.

Preemie to 35 lbs.

The Moby Wrap is an optimal baby carrier for premature infants. Preemies are often prescribed to practice "kangaroo care" and this skin-to-skin practice used to increase birth weight can be easily achieved while wearing the Moby Wrap. The Moby Wrap is long enough to adapt to your growing baby. The fabric can hold up to 45 lbs, and most people feel comfortable carrying up to 35 lbs.

Soothes fussy babies

It is amazing how quickly a baby will settle down once wrapped in the Moby Wrap. Experts like Dr. Sears, stress the importance of holding your baby often and close. The Moby Wrap allows you to do this with ease. The style of the wrap insures your baby is uniquely close, while providing ultimate comfort and support. No more aching backs or tired arms! Now your baby can be kept close and happy for as long as he or she desires.

Versatile

There are many ways to wear your Moby Wrap. You can wear your baby facing you, facing the world, sideways or on your back. When not being used as a carrier, the Moby can be used as blanket, pillow or anything else that comes to mind.

Machine washable

The Moby Wrap is easy to clean. You can machine wash your Moby in cold water and tumble dry low. Slight shrinkage after washing may occur. Once you start wearing your Moby again, it will stretch out.

Great for naps Review by Lynn

My baby wanted to be carried and snuggled all the time, but just didn't like the Moby wrap. However, he seems to be the exception as most babies love it. It did come in very helpful for naps though, if I put him in it when he was very sleepy, he would fall asleep and take his longest naps that way. It is well-made and especially great for the price compared to other carriers. It can take a while to put on, unlike other carriers; but also has more options for positions than other carriers. These are sooooo soft and comfy. They're great for carrying your baby around. I do recommend watching youtube videos on proper use and invite a friend over to help you learn. It's a little difficult at first. (Posted on 11/22/2012)

Once you pass the learning curve, you are golden Review by Beth

I think a Moby is a great addition to any newborn nursery. There is a bit of a learning curve to master the tieing process, but after one day, I was a pro. it was great for our LO when she was a newbie She would curl up so snug and snooze wherever we were! Now that she is older, we have moved to SSCs, so I don't know how it would work with a larger baby.
Note; You shoudl never use a stretchy wrap for a back carry.

we used a Moby when we first had our son, but I was not thrilled with it. It is so long that I was always dropping it and dragging the ends on the ground. I just found it to be annoying and cumbersome. It is also pretty expensive and would be cheaper and just as effective to go buy 5 yards of stretchy fabric for next to nothing at a craft store. I much prefer the Ergo with an infant insert. (Posted on 9/25/2012)
Carrier of Choice! Review by J & A Frolick

When my little brother was a baby, my mother used a Snugli with him, as she did with myself and the rest of my siblings when we were that age. One day, the snaps on the bottom came loose (goodness knows how!) and my little brother fell right through! Luckily, he fell with his head on my shoes, and was completely unharmed. But after that experience, I was a lot more cautious about my choice for a baby carrier with my own little one. No Snugli for me! After rave reviews online, and a HUGE rage review from an old friend, I decided on the Moby wrap! And I don't regret it, it's a fantastic product!!! Advise to anyone having trouble figuring out how to use it properly: go directly to the Moby Wrap website, and watch their video demo of how to put it on. Happy Moby-ing! (Posted on 8/25/2012)
An absolute must have... Review by Christina

For the first 4 months this carrier was my workhorse! I was able to get things done around the house, run to the grocery store & keep my baby close at all times. Once you figure out how to tie this on, you're set! Watch some youtube videos, that is a fast way to learn how to use it! My daughter is a bit older now & I prefer a ring sling. However, this wrap is wonderful if you are considering baby wearing! Especially useful during winter months! (Posted on 7/24/2012)
great comfortable carrier Review by Bethany

I have lots of baby carriers, and find different ones are good for different things. The Moby was great for the the newborn period to snuggle baby up close. And at 8 months its still my carrier of choice for being out and about when we will be driving. I just tie on the Moby before we leave, and pop baby in when we get out of the car. It is very comfortable even when the baby isn't in it, no knots against my back. It was also great when we were flying to visit family for Christmas. I loved not having to worry about a stroller! And baby handled all the travel and new places better because he was close to me. It did take some time to figure out how tight to wrap it, but after a few weeks I didn't even think about it. It can also be a bit of a nuisance to put on, not as quick as some of our other carriers, but once it is on, its easy to leave it on and adjust as needed if it shifts when baby isn't in it. Also my husband prefers it to a ring sling, or a carrier with flowers on it. He does find it too hot in warm weather though. I haven't noticed that problem. (Posted on 5/24/2012)
LOVE the Moby! Review by Mallory

My baby was 8lb even at birth and I've been putting her in the Moby since she was about 2 weeks old. She LOVES it! It gives me both hands so i can get things done around the house & she mostly just sleeps when she's in it. We have an ergo too and she likes it as well, but the Moby is so comfy. I think it might be to hot for the summer, so we may use the Ergo more when it's hot out.My only complain is that it's hard to tie the moby without it touching the ground. (Posted on 5/23/2012)

Now that my baby is older I think I prefer the ergo, seems like after you wear this awhile it needs to be readjusted, also hate how to put it on it has to touch the ground while you are wrapping it, I try to put it on before I leave the house if I remember, this is my favorite for newborns though (Posted on 5/10/2012)
Great for small babies Review by Jenn

The Moby was my first carrier and I fell in love with wrapping. So soft, so snuggly, helped my oldest with colic and helped my youngest with breastfeeding. The Moby feels like a second womb to my boys when they were babies and once I would put them in they'd nuzzle up and fall asleep. It only worked up to 4 months though, because then my youngest was too heavy and it would sag. That is the only downside with a Moby style wrap, they do eventually sag so you'll need to get something else for a bigger baby and a toddler. (Posted on 4/30/2012)

I bought a Moby and then realized that you can make one yourself. It's just a big, long piece of fabric for a lot cheaper. It can also be a pain to put on. (Posted on 4/27/2012)

I love this carrier it makes a Huge difference on my back no only from carrying my baby in my arms but also from other carriers. I did think that this was a more versitile product. I was under the impression there was more than one way to carry a baby in it. Even though he has to be facing inward I still love using the wrap. It is super comfortable for me and my son. This is an amazing product for babies under 20 lbs. I wouldn't recommend it's use beyond that point, nor would I recommend parents try to do back carries in it. However, it is a wonderful life-savor with younger babies. Both of our kids loved it! (Posted on 2/15/2012)
Baby carrying warrior! Review by Chris

I love the moby! It's best to have a super close snuggle hold with a newborn. The only thing that is sometimes an issue is that I feel the the baby's head rests on my collarbone. I just put a folded up burp cloth under his head and it's much more comfortable for both of us. (Posted on 2/9/2012)
Love it, but it has a learning curve Review by Jennifer

I have used my Moby for 3 children, ages newborn to toddler, and it is so wonderful! I love it for newborns because I feel like I get the most secure fit. For an older baby it works well as a back carrier, once you get used to putting it on. As a back carrier, it works great for a toddler. It is a great all around wrap. My one negative is that it does get really warm wearing it in the summer. (Posted on 2/7/2012)
Very cool product! Review by LUI

The Moby Wrap is made out of very nice, soft fabric, so it is comfortable to wear, as well as comfortable against baby's skin. My daughter usually falls asleep within a few minutes in the Moby. It takes a lot of strain off of my back, compared to carrying my daughter in my arms. She is above average size for a 4 month old, but this still feels strong enough to hold her safely. My only complaint is that due to the length of fabric, it drags on the ground while you are wrapping it. I know you need the extra length to wrap multiple times for safety, but it is slightly awkward to put on at times. Overall though, its a nice product and I am happy with it. (Posted on 10/5/2011)

I love my Moby for newborns. It is the easiest way to snuggle them to your chest. This wrap is very forgiving too when it comes to spit ups and such - wash and dry and you're ready to go. I'm on my 3rd Moby now and hooked for life. (Posted on 9/11/2011)

Good for small people or backaches Review by Ruth

Ergonomic for small people like me or my friends with backaches. I like the stretchy version because you can take a sleeping baby out without waking him/her up (I think another brand).
My husband is large and was not a fan of how long it takes to put on and the effort to learn the wraps as well as how tight/loose to tie it.
