Ergo Baby Carrier

This is THE All-in-One soft baby carrier, assisting you through all the stages of your baby's growth and moving from front to hip to back position easily. The ERGO Baby Carrier's ergonomic design supports a correct sitting position for the baby's hip, pelvis and spine growth. It disperses most of the baby's weight between the hips and thighs, which helps to eliminate compression of the spine when hanging by the crotch which most other designs require. The ERGO also balances the baby's weight to parents' hips and shoulders, and alleviates physical stress for the parent.

Features:

  • 14 ounce cotton canvas for maximum durability
  • 400 threads per inch cotton poplin lining and hood
  • 100% cotton batting in body of carrier to soften edges
  • One inch, high density foam in shoulder straps
  • Quarter inch high density neoprene foam in waist belt
  • National Molding buckles tested up to 235 pounds
  • Waist belt circumference from 25" to 43"
  • Fits from 5' to 6.5' body height with adjustable shoulder and chest straps
  • Sleeping hood adjusts in length to growth of baby
  • Reinforcement stitching used at all fabric intersections
  • Interior rip-stop reinforcements at critical intersections
  • High quality black webbing
  • Durability/strength tested up to 90 pounds

Warm but very comfortable! Review by Laura

I had my first son in the winter and with the infant insert it was pretty warm even in the sort of winter weather in California. Once we didn't need the insert it wasn't to bad and I wore my son through the summer with the help of a cooling pad. But I will say I'm a bit concerned about how my baby due in Aug will fair in the ergo with the infant insert this go around. I may forgot using the ergo for a few months and use another lighter weight carrier instead.
However after the use of the infant insert is not needed I loved my ergo. I was able to wear my son until he was about 18 months old for hours at a time with out my sometimes injury prone back having any issue. We go to Disneyland and the ergo made it possible for my son to take naps with out us having to stop going on rides. Overall I highly recommend it. I would also recommend getting a couple of pairs of the drool pads. They were especially useful once my son started eating solids as I was able to give him snacks of pretzels and such while we were out and about and usually the mess was limited to the drool pad which I could the easily wash with out having to wash the whole carrier.

Good Carrier, but I prefer my Boba Review by Katherine

I bought an Ergo first, because I had heard wonderful things, but we always preferred our Boba 3G when we got it. The Ergo was more difficult to adjust between my husband and me, and it's heavier than the Boba (which I always felt made it hotter too). I do like the cute color/print options of the Ergo, but I would have only bought the Boba if I had tried them both out first! (Posted on 8/18/2015)

This carrier is seriously a game changer. I have no idea how people survive without them. My son loves to sleep in his and some days it's the only way I get anything done. (Posted on 3/3/2015)
My favorite SSC so far Review by Amber

This is my favorite SSC that I have tried. It is especially great for on the go babywearing as it is quick and easy to put on. Very comfortable and easy to adjust fit from person to person. I love ErgoBaby! I highly recommend this carrier to anyone! Great way to be hands free with baby or for when you don't want people to touch this helps to prevent it for some reason. Usually soothes a fussy baby and helps them to feel more secure when out in busy public places that would tend to overwhelm them. (Posted on 1/14/2015)

I currently have a 6 month old and a 3 year old. We use our ergo to carry both! Our 3 year old likes the back carry and often will ask to be worn. Our 6 month we have used the ergo from about 2 months on. It has been a wonderful investment (Posted on 10/20/2014)
LOVE MY ERGO! Review by D.J.

This carrier revolutionized my life! I loved my Moby, but my son was getting too big, hubby thought it was too complicated, and I wanted to be able to nurse on the go. The Ergo totally fit the bill! It's comfortable even now and my son is 2, although we rarely use it anymore. It is easy to nurse in, and the hood allows it to be discrete. We have taken our son dozens of miles hiking in the mountains and all over Disney with the Ergo, as well as doing every day chores, like vacuuming or mopping. (Posted on 4/5/2014)

The ergo pack not only is versatile but provides support to the shoulders and back as the baby gets older. The Ergo can be used from infant through toddler, you will only need one pack for your baby wearing needs!! The ergo is easy to use, 2 clicks and your done. Also provides shade/ protection on a sunny or windy day if needed!! Great Buy!! (Posted on 2/7/2014)
Love it! Review by Erin

I bought this a few weeks ago for my 5 month old son and we love it. It is very user friendly, not as complicated to figure out as other baby carriers out there. I've tried 3 other carriers, and this one is by far the best. I have walked several miles in it, up and down hills in my town, and my back doesn't hurt at all when I wear it. And it's unisex, so my husband will wear it, unlike the other slings and wraps I have :) It costs a little more than other carriers out there, but well worth it! (Posted on 2/7/2014)

The back carry feature changed my life! Review by amie

I use this product nearly every day as I care for multiple children, ages 5 months through 3 years. I love that I can use this carrier with all of them easily. The youngest quickly falls asleep in the front carry, and rides contentedly on my back while I cook, clean, or navigate the park or museum with a toddler and preschooler. I recently hiked a 2 mile moderate trail with a 22lb. toddler sleeping in the back carry without a problem. And the preschooler likes to take rides and enjoys the closeness afforded by the carrier. I love the Ergo's versatility, simplicity, and quality. (Posted on 2/7/2014)

I have used my Ergo a lot and really love it. Such a handy piece of baby equipment that goes everywhere! My only complaint is that when baby is older and you want to use the back position, it's nearly impossible to do without another persons assistance. (Posted on 2/7/2014)

I recently tried on a friend's ergo at our local babywearing meeting and I was so pleasantly surprised!! I had heard that ergos did not work well for short people like me, i am 5'2 but much to my surprise it worked awesome! I tried it on and it was so much more comfortable to wear in a front carry than my beco was I don't know what it was about it but I will be getting one of my own very soon because I love it so much ;D (Posted on 2/7/2014)

We recently purchased the Ergo after trying out a friends. The front carry is very comfortable for me. I cannot seem to get it adjusted correctly for back carry but my husband has no problems. It's very quick to put on though a way to mark where the straps should be for different people/carries would be nice. (Posted on 2/7/2014)
Don't waste your time w/ Infantino carriers!! Get an Ergo :-) Review by Nicole

We bought our Ergo with Barefoot Kids/The Green Nursery after wearing it in the store for a half hour to see if it was really better than the infantino carrier we had received as a baby shower gift.

My baby daughter fell asleep in it after a short while, it was so comfy for her. I felt comfortable, the Ergo spreads the baby's weight so much better than other carriers I've tried. Both my husband (6ft, 200+ lbs) and I (5ft 7in, not telling) can wear our babies in it, and both our 2.5 year old and our 7month old still fit and enjoy riding along.

It does take some practice to get used to doing back carries by yourself, but I find that my 7 month old has learned that he gets to ride w/ mommy and to sit still until I get the carrier in place.

I love the sleeping hood, too.

The only drawback I see is the fact that the child can lean way out away from you if they want to, which can throw the parent off-balance considerably.

The ergo is the best carrier I've used. Review by Mary

I really, really like the ergo carrier. By distributing weight to the hips and shoulders, I can wear it for a long time without being sore later. It's really comfortable in the front, side, and back positions and is user-friendly. I love "wearing" my child and having a pocket to store things and an optional hood for my child makes this perfect! (Posted on 2/7/2014)
My favorite SSC! Review by Jamie O.

I bought an Ergo carrier after doing, much much research to find the perfect carrier for us. I didn't take me long to get the straps adjusted perfectly and wearing our daughter in it was fabulous! Shortly after I got my Ergo I won a Boba in a contest. I ended up selling my Ergo figuring I could use the Boba...that didn't work out.

I ended up buying another Ergo because the Boba was too long and too wide for my small frame (100lbs and 5'2''). It was just too bulky-everything from the width of the straps that dug into the back of my arms when I wore it on my back to the length that made me waddle because it sat too low on my hips to the excess straps I tried to roll (and roll and roll) up because they were so long.

Slipping the Ergo back on it was like wearing my favorite sweater! Even at almost two I wear my daughter in it regularly! We own our own biz, where I am 4 days a week for 12 hours a day. There have been several occasions over almost two months we've been open were I've slipped the Ergo on and went on about my business comfortably. It leaves us hands free, does a great job of distributing the weight and is perfect for my small frame!

Excellent Carrier Review by MJ

After my first child I tried every carrier I could find and so many of them were too bulky or didn't feel supportive to me or my baby.

Three kids later, I only use two carriers...a pocket for newborns and an Ergo for 6 months and up!

The only downside to these carriers is that there is a learning curve to putting them on (you'll need help at first) and that babies love to suck on the straps (you can pay extra for suck pads to protect them).

An Ergo is definately in my top 10 things to recommend to new parents!

Works well...easy to use...fits both my husband and I...I am under 5' (would be more comfy if I were taller but it works) and my husband is 6'1"! Baby loves it too! (Posted on 2/7/2014)
SAVED my back and shoulders! Review by Kelsi

I use this constantly! My 3rd baby was almost 10lbs at birth and he did a number on my back and tailbone in later pregnancy and birth. I tried several other carriers but could never keep them on long - they either cut into my shoulders or killed my middle back. This carrier is WONDERFUL and sits like a hiking pack, so the weight is evenly distributed on your hips. The price scared me at first, but it's worth every penny! (Posted on 2/7/2014)
