I get occasional soap build up on my diapers and have used RLR and GroVia mighty bubbles. Both brands do a great job at getting the suds out, but I would say the RLR does slightly better than the GroVia. My only complaint about the RLR is that it doesn’t come with more treatments or in bigger multipacks.

In Austin, TX, our water is fairly hard, but nottttttt quite hard enough that water softeners are commonplace as they are in other parts of the country with (slightly) harder water. I wash in Tide Free n Clear and throw in a packet of RLR every few loads if I feel like diapers aren't smelling "clean or like nothing" when I pull them out of the washing machine. It really helps wash out any residual ammonia buildup better than anything else I've tried. I have no idea why it's so expensive. I have found it other places where I can order multiple packets at once and get a price break. My only complaint is that it's not more affordable.
