Ok after trying a Softbums echo shell and snap in pod I have found that these are significantly overpriced!! You just cannot get a good value with these diapers. I cloth diaper to save money. Although I have a huge stash because I like to try all the different brands and styles lol. I DO like that you can snap other brands of inserts into these shells(best bottoms, buttons, trend lab, etc) because the Softbums pods are really pricey. But what I look for in an ai2 diaper system is to be able to change out the insert and reuse the shell. This isn't possible for my heavy wetters and these shells because the inside is lined in microfleece and ALWAYS gets wet. So I always have to change the whole shell and insert. Which makes them not economical at all for us. Overall, I do like the quality and colors they offer but I don't like the price and would not recommend them to friends.

I really wanted to love the SoftBums diapers but I ended up switching to mostly BumGenius. I really like the Slide²Size feature and started with mostly Omni thinking I wanted the versatility but ended up adding a lot of Echos to my collection since I rarely use the pocket. The Echo is a little easier to work with so if you don't plan to use the pocket all the time you only need a few Omni shells. I prefer the snaps to the hook and loop as I found the taps don't always stay closed when you wash them. I do wish the snaps came in more color options. One of my favorite things about all of the SoftBums is that you can roll them up like a disposable when they are dirty and secure them which is great for daycare. I found the SoftBums to be good when I was at home with my baby and I could reuse the shells. They are less practical when you are sending them to daycare and they are only being used once. The fact that they can vary by product run was a big downside for me. There is a pretty significant difference in the size of some of my diapers and a few of them are slightly off around the leg. When they top stitched around the leg the liner stuck out further then the PUL which causes leaks. It is impossible to keep track of which ones leak. Now that my baby is older and I need more absorbsion I find the two pod system a little less convenient to work with. I purchased some TrendLab soaker pads with elasticized sides that snap into the SoftBums diapers. I find they make for easier set up and rinsing. Given that you can get BumGenius on sale or in bulk for $15-16 per diaper I just can't find the value in SoftBums at close to $30 for the shell and pod system.

I love these diapers!! So easy to use and very trim. The Velcro is great and soft, it doesn't rub against baby and doesn't wear out fast like other brands. I love that you have the option of stuffing or snapping the insert on top. The toggle elastics are soooooo much better the snapping to adjust size, that's my most favorite feature of SoftBums!!

this will fit a 7 pounder or more ,its very soft and cushy not great for a belly button just healing though.the real value is when your baby starts to crawl this will be a trim fit,on a newborn its just a tad too bulky.
