My kids and I get bitten by every bug in our zip code - I haven't even noticed any mosquitos, and yet I am scratching a bite behind my knee!  Time to pull out the bug repellent I discovered last year - All Terrain's Kids Herbal Armor!  I had heard such amazing things about this stuff that I hunted some down locally when The Green Nursery was out of stock, and I have not been sorry.

The repellent power comes from six essential oils (oil of soybean, oil of citronella, oil of peppermint, oil of cedar, oil of lemongrass, and oil of geranium) that are micro-encapsulated to make it sweat and water-resistant.  It lasts for 2-3 hours.  And it works!!

Mostly, you smell the citronella (of which I am not a huge fan, but I'd rather smell like citronella than have mosquito bites!).  It is DEET-free and a pump spray (no aerosol can to harm the ozone layer!) and it is cruelty-free.  The repellent rubs on easily and absorbs quickly.  You do need to be careful when applying to faces and eyes, and I don't let my kids rub it in on their own because I don't want them putting it in their mouths via their hands.  And it should be kept out of their reach.

The only caveat is that you shouldn't use it on kids under 6 months.  What to do for your young baby, then?  BabyLegs BabyNoBugs!  I can't personally vouch for these, but they are treated with Insect Shield, which lasts for 70 launderings.  And they're adorable!

Have any of you tried the BabyNoBugs?
