I'm so excited that I was chosen to be a part Earth Mama Angel Baby's #EarthMama campaign! Along with 14 other bloggers, I'm swapping out my families personal care products for Earth Mama Angel Baby products for one month and sharing my thoughts and experience with them. Last week, I opened up the doors of my medicine cabinet and gave everyone a peek inside my medicine cabinet makeover with the soaps, balms, and spray I received in my ambassador package.
My family and I have been using these products for a little over a week now and I couldn't be happier with them! I even bought more Earth Mama Angel Baby products that didn't come in my package to replace as many of my family's personal care products as possible. Not only have they been working great for us, it feels as though a weight has been lifted off of my shoulders knowing that the products we're using do not contain any potenially harmful ingredients.
Since I have so much I want to say about these great products, instead of doing one extremely long review of all them, I'm breaking it up and will share my thoughts and experience with the different products throughout the next two weeks. The first thing I'll focus on is the Angel Baby Shampoo and Bodywash, a pure organic castile soap, made with all natural ingredients and zero toxins. I have the naturally scented Orange Vanilla and Lavender Vanilla, and they both smell amazing!
One of the many things I love about this soap is that, like all of the other products in the Earth Mama Angel Baby line, it is mult-purpose. I have found several different uses for it. But first things first, let's talk about bath time!
My kids spend most of their time running around barefoot in the woods, playing in the creek behind our house. When bathtime rolls around, they're pretty filthy! Although this soap is made with gentle ingredients, it does a great job of getting them squeaky clean. I love that I don't have to work it into a lather, the foaming pump does the job for me. Although it's not made with harsh sudsing ingredients, you still get a nice amount of sudsiness! It glides on and washes off easily.
My youngest has never been a fan of getting his hair washed, and this soap makes the job so much easier. With other soaps we've tried I had to use several cupfuls of water to get it to fully rinse out. I don't have that problem with Angel Baby Shampoo and Bodywash. Just two cupfuls is all it takes, which my little guy and I both really appreciate!
I also love that although it smells great, the scent doesn't linger. When I'm wearing him and go to smell his hair, I smell him. I'm not smacked in the face with heavy artificial scents. Just my sweet baby's natural smell.
I feel so much better using this soap than what my husband and I have been using for ourselves. When I read the labels of our old bottles, I immediately recognized a few ingredients listed on the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics Chemicals of Concern list. We stopped using our old shampoos and bodywashes and are now only using Angel Baby soap and love it! Since the whole family is using the same shampoo and bodywash, we've cut down on the amount of bottles in the tub, creating more space and less waste! Earth Mama Angel Baby Shampoo and Bodywash for all!
We've also found Angel Baby soap great for shaving! When I looked up the shaving cream my husband and I currently share on the EWG Database, I realized that it contains parabens, among other icky chemicals. The same shaving cream that my kids make fake beards and cover their bodies with in the bathtub... I couldn't get rid of that stuff quick enough! Because of the foaming pump, it goes on so silky and smooth, letting my razor glide over my skin. And my kids can still have fun making fake beards without the worry.
Another product I switched out for the Angel Baby soap is tub cleaner. We have super hard water, which (when my husband neglects his water softener duties) leaves my tub with a red tint no matter how clean it is. I've tried several different store bought cleaners to help with the staining, but getting it white again was no easy task, even with heavy scrubbing! Plus, whenever I try to clean the tub with those harsh chemicals, I have to keep my little guy away from the area so that he's not exposed to them, all the while exposing myself to them.
When I first tried Earth Mama Angel Baby's soft scrubby household cleaner recipe, I was amazed how easily the hard water stains came off when really not near as much effort! The baking soda in this recipe gives me that extra oomph I'd been missing!
I put just a little bit of the paste on my scrubbing pad and worked like a charm! And I since it's made without harsh ingredients, I don't have to worry about keeping my little guy away. In fact, he can hang out in the tub with me while I'm scrubbing... I may even put him to work! ;)
You can also use this soap to make a homemade wipes solution! I have always just wet my son's cloth wipes in the sink, but decided to give this recipe a go. I really like it! I keep it stored in a peri bottle and just wet the wipes as I need them. It smells great and I feel like it makes it easier to get him clean when I change his diaper.
I also have been using it as an all purpose cleaning spray. I just pour a little bit in an spray bottle filled with water and spray away! It's also great for plain old handwashing! Just stick a bottle on the sink! There are seriously so many different things you can do with castile soap. Click here for 5 Frugal Uses for REAL Soap from Earth Mama Angel Baby.
The thing that I love the most about this campaign, besides getting to try out so many amazing Earth Mama Angel Baby products, is that I am learning so much. I am so much more aware of the things in the products my family uses on our bodies and what we use around the house. I love that I can be confident that when we use Angel Baby soap, I'm not exposing my family to harsh chemical and toxins. Stay tuned as I share more of my medicine cabinet makeover throughout the week!
